For those of you who say family doesn’t play an influence in the sporting world, I ask you to look at the 2015-16 edition of the Lipscomb Bisons.
There, you will find the Wishon brothers.
Brett Wishon is a 6’9” forward for Lipscomb, who started in 16 games in 2014-15. Now, you can add his 7’2” brother, David, to the mix. David Wishon transferred for the second time in his career, committing to Lipscomb after playing last season with the College of Charleston.
In 2014-15, David Wishon appeared in 10 games and started 2 for the Cougars. He averaged 1.9 points and 1.0 rebounds for the College of Charleston.
Before his time with the Cougars, Wishon spent his freshman campaign at the University of Tulsa. He transferred to Charleston, and had to sit out a year before playing. He still has one year of eligibility left in the NCAA.
The 7’2” big man will give the Bisons a much-needed size boost inside the paint when he’s on the floor. Over his career, he hasn’t play a whole lot, so it’ll be interesting to see how the Bisons use Wishon and what impact that’ll have on his production.
