Over the past three seasons, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers have been near the top of the Big South Conference, advancing to the NCAA Tournament on back-to-back occasions in 2014 and 2015.
Heading into the 2016-17 season, the Chanticleers are on the move to the Sun Belt Conference, and the rest of the Big South let out a collective sigh of relief.
In their new home, Cliff Ellis and the Chanticleers will look to continue their recent stretch of strong play. But, the Sun Belt will provide a tougher slate of games for Coastal Carolina, who will be transitioning to a new home without some star players from a year ago.
Forwards Badou Diagne and Michel Enanga have both graduated from the program, and both are big losses for the team. However, guard Elijah Wilson will be looking to close out his career at Coastal Carolina with a fourth-straight trip to a post-season tournament.
You can bet Coach Ellis and his staff will have the team more than ready for the rigorous grind of Sun Belt action.
