Despite putting together a strong record, both in non-conference play and Mountain West action, the Nevada Wolfpack fell short on their quest for a conference title in 2015-16.

After finishing fourth in the Mountain West Conference regular season standings, the Wolfpack accepted an invitation to the 2016 College Basketball Invitational (CBI). After knocking off three high quality teams in Reno, Nevada squared off with the Morehead State Eagles in the finals.

The Eagles took game one on their home floor, but the best-of-three series shifted to Reno for the final two games. After the Wolfpack tied the series at one, the momentum was squarely on their side. In the deciding game, Nevada needed overtime to take home the CBI title on their home floor, defeating the Eagles, 85-82.

This season, the Wolfpack are looking to build off last year’s success and turn it into a conference title. A healthy combination of returnees and transfers will push the Wolfpack into contention atop the Mountain West.

Head coach Eric Musselman has turned the team into a contender, and things will only get better from here.
