The quest to find the ‘Top Mascot in the NCAA’ is starting to wind down, but the third instalment of the challenge is shaping up to be the closest one yet.
With several newcomers to the challenge, it was unclear from the start as to who would assert themselves as a front-runner for the crown.
Last year’s champion, Sam the Minuteman, is looking to defend his title as the country’s top mascot. He rolled to another victory, this time taking down Pistol Pete to punch his ticket back to the Final 4.
Two newcomers to the challenge also earned spots in the Final 4, along with a familiar face from last year’s challenge. All four mascots who will appear in the finals have seen a steady increase in fan support since the outset of the challenge, meaning the Final 4 should be exciting from day one.
In total, over 3,500 votes were cast over the seven days Round of 16 across Twitter, Instagram, and the Online Polls.
