Travis Ford is building something special at Saint Louis.

Reported by Jeff Goodman of ESPN, class of 2018 guard Fred Thatch Jr. has committed to Saint Louis. Thatch is currently in the midst of a sensational junior season and has led Sikeston High School to a 10-1 start.

“After months of anticipating, with the help of some family & friends I have decided that the best decision for me will be picking a Billikens jersey,” wrote Thatch Jr. on Twitter. “I have verbally committed to the St. Louis University Billikens!”

Thatch Jr., a product of Team Ramey on the AAU circuit, is a three-star recruit with a player grade of 91, according to Future150. He is coming off a 37-point, 16-rebound, 5-assist performance on January 6 and 34-point, 11-rebound, 6-assist showcase the day after.

Thatch Jr. is the second high-profile recruit to commit to Ford and SLU. ESPN’s 9th ranked class of 2018 prospect Carte’Are Gordon sealed his collegiate fate on October 26, 2016. Gordon picked Saint Louis over Kansas, Notre Dame, Purdue, and USC.

In addition to the future freshmen, transfers D.J. Foreman (Rutgers), Javon Bess (Michigan State), and Adonys Henriquez (UCF) will join the Billikens next year. All had major roles at their respective schools; Foreman leads the trio with 6 RPG last year while Henriquez posted 10.1 PPG as a Knight.

While Saint Louis is 4-12 (0-4) this season, one can guarantee many victories are coming the way of the Billikens.
