CALGARY, Alb. — Dallas Moore has had himself quite the collegiate career so far, and he’s not quite done just yet.
In each of his first three seasons with the North Florida Ospreys, the native of Saint Petersburg, FL has averaged at least 12.5 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. He topped the 1,000-point mark for his career in the second game of last season.
This season, he passed another pair of milestones, and etched his name into the Atlantic Sun record books.
This past week, Moore became the first player in conference history to record 2,000 points and 500 assists for a career. He did so with two big performances in two wins for the Atlantic Sun-leading Ospreys.
Over two close home wins for North Florida, Moore averaged a casual 32.5 points, and 4.5 rebounds per game to lead the Ospreys to a perfect home swing after a three-game road trip.
For his efforts over the past seven days, senior guard Dallas Moore has been named the College Court Report Co-Player of the Week for the week of January 16 – 22, 2017!
Outside of a five-point performance against the Auburn Tigers in the season opener, Moore has scored in double-figures in each game this year.
This past week was no different.
Returning home after a three-game home trip in which the Ospreys went 2-1 to open up conference play, North Florida continued their resurgence after a slow start to the year.
North Florida opened up their week with a home date against the Kennesaw State Owls. Behind 29 points from Moore, who went 5-of-10 from three point range on the night, the Ospreys came away with the 86-84 win over the Owls.
Moore went 11-of-23 from the field overall, and a perfect 2-of-2 from the free throw line. He added 2 rebounds and 4 assists in the win.
Two nights later, the Ospreys welcomed Garrison Mathews and the rest of the Lipscomb Bisons to town. The Ospreys notched the 90-84 win, and Moore put up one of his better performances this season.
He scored a game-high 36 points, which was one off his season high of 37, which he scored against Edward Waters in the second game of the year. Moore also pulled down 9 rebounds and dished out 2 assists in the victory.
Against Lipscomb, Moore became the first player in Atlantic Sun history to record 2,000 points and 500 assists in his career. Moore passed the 2,000 point mark earlier this season.
For the week, Moore averaged a casual 32.5 points per contest in the two wins for the Ospreys. He also averaged 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per night.
With his big week, Moore is now the third-ranked scorer in the country. He is now averaging 23.7 points per contest on the year, which is a career-high mark. He is shooting 49.1% from the field, and 41.1% from three point range for the year.
Moore will go down as one of the best players in North Florida history, if not the best, when he graduates following the 2016-17 season. He does it all for the Ospreys, and he has North Florida at the top of the Atlantic Sun standings once again.
After etching his name into the record books this past week, senior guard Dallas Moore has been named the College Court Report Co-Player of the Week for the week of January 16 – 22, 2017, along with Jacob Wiley of the Eastern Washington Eagles!
