Mascot Mayhem

PuddlesThe 3rd Annual College Court Report Mascot Mayhem Contest is finally here, and we couldn’t be more excited!

We have selected the field of 64 for this year’s challenge, and we have to say, it’s chalked full of great mascots from across the NCAA! Some are familiar faces from last year’s challenge, and some are newcomers looking for your support!

In the two years that the contest has been around, two different mascots have taken home the title of ‘Top Mascot in the NCAA.’

Back in 2014-15, Harry the Hawk took home the title, and proceeded to retire from mascot competitions following the challenge. The former mascot of the Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawks was replaced by his nephew, HH3, in last year’s contest.

In 2015-16, it was Sam the Minutman who took home the crown for the Massachusetts Minutemen. He will be looking to defend his title this time around.

We have selected 64 of the top mascots in the country, and have separated them into four brackets of 16. Through social media and online polls, a winner will be decided by the fans!

Voting Rules

Like last season, votes can be cast through the use of Twitter. Instead of a specific hashtag for each mascot, fans can use “#CCRMascotMayhem” and the name of the mascot to vote.

Ex: “#CCRMascotMayhem Sam the Minuteman!”
or
“Sam the Minuteman! #CCRMascotMayhem”

Note: You do not have to tag College Court Report (@CC_Report) in your tweets.

If we LIKE the tweets on Twitter, then they have been counted towards the mascot’s total for the current round. Re-tweets also count as votes, so RT away!

Tuesdays will provide voters with a way to earn an extra vote with each tweet. Every tweet that is in the correct format on Tuesday, coined as ‘Twitter Tuesday’, will result in two votes for the respective mascot.

Again this season, we have included Instagram as a way to vote. We will post a picture of each mascot in the round, and fans can cast votes through the photo. Each LIKE on the photo results in one vote.

For Twitter, one tweet per day, per account, is the limit. Any others in a day will not be included in the tally. On Instagram, the limit is 1 LIKE per round, per person. Multiple comments from a single person will not be tallied.

Fans can also vote via the website polls, just like last year.
