Hawai’i Begins Their Season with an 82-70 Victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff

HONOLULU — The Hawai’i Warriors opened up their 2017-18 season with a with an 82-70 win against the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Friday’s contest was a part of the Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic.

Senior forwards Mike Thomas and Gibson Johnson poured in 19 points a piece, with junior forward Jack Purchase also contributing 18 of his own.

2017-18 MTE and Neutral Site Showcase Preview Series: Men Against Breast Cancer

CALGARY, Alta. — The 2017-18 season is just around the corner, and while there’s a debate on Twitter as to when the season actually starts, it can’t get here soon enough.

Schedules are being released with each passing weekday, and many of them feature early-season tournaments and multi-team events all throughout non-conference play. According to Chris Dobbertean and Blogging the Bracket, there are over 30 multi-team tournaments, and another handful of neutral site showcases and non-exempt events.

So, with the season coming up, we thought we would go through and preview all of the early-season tournaments, the non-exempt tournaments, and a wide array of the neutral site showcase events. In total, we will preview 75 different events over the course of the next 75 days, culminating on opening day.

We selected the events at random, and have broken some up into two pieces, like the Phil Knight Invitational, since there are two separate brackets.

Monday Headlines: Wide Open Conference Races, Points Galore, and More

The first Monday of 2017 was an exciting one to say the least. It also left us scratching our heads, asking more questions about preseason conference favourites.

Monday’s slate was made up entirely of mid-major programs, with the majority of games being conference match-ups as the battle for conference supremacy is officially under way.

While no power conference teams were in action, there will still several marquee programs in action. The Monmouth Hawks, Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks, and the Little Rock Trojans, who all had stellar seasons a year ago, were all in action on Monday.

All three teams suffered defeats.

Following the slate of games on Monday, we were left with more questions than answers when looking at certain programs, and conferences, as the 2016-17 moves along.

College Court Report Preseason All-Conference Teams: Southwestern Athletic Conference

With the exhibition season in full swing, and coming to a close early this week, that can mean only one thing.

The 2016-17 college basketball regular season is just around the corner!

Things get underway Friday, November 11th at Noon EST with the first regular season game of the season, and there will be a plethora of talent on display across all 32 conferences all season long.

Before the season gets started, we decided to hand out some preseason hardware, in the form of our Conference Player of the Year award and All-Conference Teams.

Along with that, we have the College Court Report All-Americans, and the Mid-Major Player of the Year Preseason Watch List. Links to all of the conference awards and the Watch List can be found at the bottom of each article.
