Hawai’i Warriors Get Off to a 3-1 Start in Big West Play

HONOLULU — After opening with a record of 3-1 in Big West play, which will continue on Saturday against Chima Moneke and the UC Davis Aggies, the Hawai’i Warriors are sitting pretty in a tie for second in the conference standings.

Hawai’i has averaged an even 70 points per game over their four-game stretch, but have been playing some sub-par basketball despite the results on the scoreboard and their spot in the standings.

In their 57-45 win over the Cal Poly Mustangs, their second win over the stretch, the Warriors shot just 40.5% from the field, as well as shooting a dismal 33.3% from beyond the arc. Continue reading Hawai’i Warriors Get Off to a 3-1 Start in Big West Play

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — In 2016-17, the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats didn’t notch their fifth win until February 6th.

Fast forward to the 2017-18 season, and the Wildcats picked up their fifth win of the season on Tuesday, December 12th. To top it off, they managed to do it in front of their home crowd.

Behind a game-high 21 points from Malik Maitland and another double-double from Shawntrez Davis, Bethune-Cookman knocked off the Cal Poly Mustangs inside the historic Moore Gymnasium.

With the exhibition season in full swing, and coming to a close early this week, that can mean only one thing.

The 2016-17 college basketball regular season is just around the corner!

Things get underway Friday, November 11th at Noon EST with the first regular season game of the season, and there will be a plethora of talent on display across all 32 conferences all season long.

Before the season gets started, we decided to hand out some preseason hardware, in the form of our Conference Player of the Year award and All-Conference Teams.

Along with that, we have the College Court Report All-Americans, and the Mid-Major Player of the Year Preseason Watch List. Links to all of the conference awards and the Watch List can be found at the bottom of each article.
