BALTIMORE, Md. — In seven of their eight conference games, including Monday night, the Coppin State Eagles have scored above their seasonal average in terms of points per game.
Coppin State posted four players in double figures on Monday night, and they capped off a perfect three game home stand with a 71-68 victory over the visiting Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks. The win was the Eagles’ fourth win on the season, pushing them to 4-4 in conference play.
The loss dropped the Hawks to 1-8 against MEAC opponents on the year.
Coming into the game, the Eagles ranked last in the country in terms of points per game scored on offense. Sitting at an average of 58.8 points per game, the Eagles have found their groove as of late. Over their three game winning streak, they have scored at least 71 points.
