ALBANY, N.Y. — What an off-season it’s been for the Albany Great Danes.
The Great Danes have lost a ton of talent and production from their 2017-18 team this off-season, whether it be to graduation of players transferring out of the program. Their top four scorers are all gone, a group that includes three players that averaged at least 14.6 points per game.
Guards Joe Cremo and David Nichols both transferred from the program at the end of the year. Cremo joined the reigning champion Villanova Wildcats, while Nichols is taking his talents to the ACC after committing to the Florida State Seminoles. Add in the graduation of both Travis Charles and Greig Stire, and the roster is thin for the Great Danes.
Coach Will Brown and his staff have added transfers this off-season to help shoulder the load on both ends of the court. Freshman Phillip Flory transferred from the Seton Hall Pirates, and will be immediately eligible this season. On Tuesday, they added another player that brings a wealth of experience with him to the program.
