PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — The weather outside is frightful, at least for some on the East Coast of the United States right now.

A winter storm led to the closure of some schools on Friday, and some college basketball games have been rescheduled due to the high amounts of snow that have fallen in recent days. When you add in the wind chill and the cold weather warnings, it makes for a frigid time outdoors.

Luckily, the heaters will be on inside Hytche Arena on Saturday afternoon for college basketball action, as theĀ Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks host theĀ Hampton Pirates in MEAC play. Both teams come in looking for their first conference win, and Saturday marks the MEAC opener for the Pirates.

The 2017-18 season is the last for Hampton in the MEAC, as they will be making a move to the Big South Conference come the 2018-19 campaign. A win over the Hawks on the road would be a great way to kick off their final season in the league as they have their sights set on the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
