Notre Dame Opens the 2017-18 Season on the Road Against DePaul

South Bend, IN – Christmas has come early for college basketball fans, as this weekend marks the start of the 2017-18 college basketball season.

After a long off-season, which included some good times and bad, college basketball fans are coming out of hibernation and ready to watch some madness happen.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish open up their season on the road against the DePaul Blue Demons, at the newly constructed Wintrust Arena, a 10,000 seat multi-purpose arena that will be the new home of Blue Demon’s basketball and the Chicago Sky of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish got their second victory in the preseason as they took care of Bethel College, 88-59, extending their all-time exhibition win streak to 36.

This result comes after the AP Poll announced their preseason Top 25, in which the Irish were slotted at number 14 in the nation.

It was a strong showing for the Irish, one that saw four players reach double figures and some big performances from some key players that will need to step up this season.

Hamilton, ON- Sometimes in life, we tend to want stuff now. In a fast-paced society, where traffic jams are seen as agitators or waiting for a meal at a restaurant is too much to handle, we need to remember one simple fact of life.

Patience is a virtue.

Three burning questions that Notre Dame must answer heading into the 2017-18 season

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball team is back on campus for summer school, and the 2017-18 season is slowly approaching.

On July 6th, the team held an open practice, giving everyone a first look at the 2017-2018 Irish. The media got a look at players like T.J. Gibbs, who is looking lean and fast, Canadian¬†Nikola Djogo who showed great skill but lacked confidence, and Notre Dame’s new guys on campus who looked good in their own right.

Throughout the off-season, the Irish have a lot of work to do and have questions that must be answered either before the season opener or early on in the season if they want to reach the NCAA Tournament.
