The likes of the Indiana Hoosiers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Purdue Boilermakers look to be the conference’s best bets to have a Big Ten cut down the nets.
However, the National Championship is still over two months away, and the Big Ten conference is a mess. There’s no clear-cut favourite at this moment in the season, teams are losing games they should win, and vice versa. There are several ‘good’ teams in the conference, but no ‘great’ teams.
With the exhibition season in full swing, and coming to a close early this week, that can mean only one thing.
The 2016-17 college basketball regular season is just around the corner!
Things get underway Friday, November 11th at Noon EST with the first regular season game of the season, and there will be a plethora of talent on display across all 32 conferences all season long.
Before the season gets started, we decided to hand out some preseason hardware, in the form of our Conference Player of the Year award and All-Conference Teams.

The 2014-15 season was one to forget for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Minnesota finished the year with a 6 – 12 record in Big Ten play, and Richard Pitino’s squad missed out on a post-season appearance after there was a ton of positive optimism surrounding the program.
Despite the rough go last season, people around the NCAA still believe that the Golden Gophers are on the rise, and one of those people is former Illinois State center Reggie Lynch. The big man transferred from the Redbirds, stating that he wanted to be closer to home.
