RECAP: Flanigan Wins Debut as Little Rock Trojans Roll Over NAIA Central Baptist College

Wes Flanigan began his head-coaching career in the win column as his Little Rock Trojans trounced Central Baptist College, an NAIA team from nearby Conway, 97-65 on Saturday afternoon.

The Trojans, who also blew out another local program, the Arkansas-Monticello Boll Weevils, by nearly thirty points in an exhibition game last Tuesday, effectively spread the wealth against the Mustangs as 12 Little Rock players made a mark in the score book and 45 of the team’s 97 points originated from the bench. Northwestern State Falls to 0-2 With Home Loss to NAIA’s LSU-Alexandria

Jalan West missed Monday night’s game due to injury, and his team missed having him on the floor as the Northwestern State Demons fell to 0-2 with a 99 – 97 loss to LSU-Alexandria, an NAIA team.

The Northwestern State Demons are home to the top scoring guard duo in the NCAA, in Jalan West and Zeek Woodley. Combined, the two averaged over 42 points per game a season ago.

On Monday night, Jalan West was on the sidelines, recovering from an injury sustained in the Demons’ season opener against Ole Miss. They were taking on LSU-Alexandria, a team from the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) in the NAIA, so on paper it was a good game to sit out and recover.

The Generals took advantage of West’s absence, and brought their A-game in the process.
