Little Rock, which was in the midst of an impressive six-game winning streak with only two losses so far in head coach Wes Flanigan‘s debut year, was sent away from Tulsa on Monday afternoon with a tough third defeat, as the Trojans were whipped by the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles 63-48.

The Eagles’ Aaron Anderson made a pair of 3-pointers in the first half and had eight total points, as ORU began pulling away late in the period and went into the halftime break with a 27-21 advantage.

As a team, Little Rock shot just 7-of-26 (27 percent) from the floor in the first half and did not land a single shot from behind the arc. When Shaka Smart left Virginia Commonwealth to take the head coaching job down in Texas, people started to speculate as to who would step in to lead the Rams. When all was said and done, it was Chattanooga`s bench boss Will Wade who took over the program.

Wade is a former assistant of Smart, and is very familiar with the processes and procedures of the program. However, people wondered if his lack of post-season success and overall head coaching experience would hinder him in any way.

If Thursday was any indication, he should have no trouble with the Rams in terms of recruiting. Graduate transfer Korey Billbury, from Oral Roberts, committed to the VCU Rams, giving Wade his first big-time transfer recruit as he tries to put the final touches on the 2015-16 roster.
