The Ivy League has proved its significance in the college basketball landscape and is considered one of the better mid-major leagues. With the new development of the 4-team play-off, the League’s crown is up for grabs.
With the exhibition season in full swing, and coming to a close early this week, that can mean only one thing.
The 2016-17 college basketball regular season is just around the corner!
Things get underway Friday, November 11th at Noon EST with the first regular season game of the season, and there will be a plethora of talent on display across all 32 conferences all season long.
Before the season gets started, we decided to hand out some preseason hardware, in the form of our Conference Player of the Year award and All-Conference Teams.
Along with that, we have the College Court Report All-Americans, and the Mid-Major Player of the Year Preseason Watch List. Links to all of the conference awards and the Watch List can be found at the bottom of each article.
There’s a changing of the guard in the Ivy League in 2016-17.
Eleven freshman guards are joining the conference this season, all of whom are looking to make a name for themselves and their programs. Some will come in and start right away, while others will learn from some of the conference’s top players and will have to put in the work to steal minutes from the stars.
The 2015-16 college basketball regular season is in full swing, and what a season it has been already. Night in and night out, any team is truly capable of knocking off anyone, making the season that much more exciting. Upsets have been aplenty this season, and more are bound to come over the course of the 2015-16 season.
Each day, we will hand out some awards for the top three individual performances from the night before. They could be freshmen or experienced seniors, and they could come from the smallest mid-major programs or the top teams in the country. Each night, there are big performances that are critical for their respective teams.
