SOUTH BEND, In. — With their top two players out and zero wins at the Carrier Dome in over 10 years, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish had a tough match-up against a very athletic Syracuse Orange team, who had wins over teams like University of Connecticut, Georgetown and Virginia Tech in non-conference play.
SOUTH BEND, In. — After beating the NC State Wolfpack by 30 points without their top two scorers, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish look to move to 3-0 in conference play on Saturday January 6th when they take on the Syracuse Orange.

SOUTH BEND, In. — Now that the holiday season has come and gone, conference play has arrived in the college basketball world, and for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, their first game was against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, who they defeated 68-59.
Coming into this game, the Yellow Jackets were 6-6 on the season, with some close losses to a variety of small school teams. To most, a team with a 6-6 record may not scare people. But, considering the history of close games that the Irish and Yellow Jackets have had, Georgia Tech was capable of beating a 10-3 Irish team.
Regardless of their losses to lesser competition, Georgia Tech brought their A-game against the Irish, who have been very successful against the Yellow Jackets at home.
EAST LANSING, Mich. — On Thursday night inside the Breslin Center, the third-ranked Michigan State Spartans led wire-to-wire against the fifth-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish, picking up a big 81-63 win to close out the 2017 ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
It marks the second win for Michigan State over a top ten team in a five-day span, as they knocked off the then ninth-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels on Sunday to win the Victory Bracket of the PK80 Invitational, 63-45.
Michigan State got contributions from all 11 players who checked into the game, nine of which recorded at least two points in the win. Sophomore guard Cassius Winston led the way with another all-round performance, recording 17 points, seven assists, and five rebounds.
Fellow guard Joshua Langford tied Winston for the team-high in scoring with 17 points of his own, while Miles Bridges chipped in with 14 points and six rebounds.
MAUI, HI – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have been crowned the 2017 Maui Jim Maui Invitationalchampions, after beating the Wichita State Shockers, 67-66, coming back from a 16-point deficit to take home the title.
The last time these two programs faced each other was in 2015 during the regional semi-final of the NCAA Tournament in which the Irish came out victorious, beating the Shockers in a close one, 81-70.
It was a game that the college basketball world wanted and expected to see on the last day of the tournament: #13 Notre Dame vs #6 Wichita State; two teams that always seem to fly under the radar, but are among the best in the country.
After a week full of basketball games in Maui, this one certainly didn’t disappoint.
