SOUTH BEND, IN. — With 10 seconds left on the clock, the score tied at 77 and the ball in the hands of Ball State‘s Tayler Persons, the Cardinals’ leading scorer drained a last-second three pointer to shock the Notre Dame Fighting Irish inside the Purcell Pavilion, 80-77.

Prior to the 10th meeting between the Irish and the Cardinals, Notre Dame had claimed victories in all nine previous games, with their last win coming back in 1976.

Notre Dame has never let Ball State come close to ever upsetting them. Yesterday was a different story.

This might be a wake up call for the Irish, who got outmatched by the Michigan State Spartans two games ago, had some struggles against the St. Francis (Brooklyn) Terriers, and have now lost to the Ball State Cardinals.

ACC play is fast approaching, and some changes might have to be made.

Sunday afternoon’s game marked the first time in 23 years that Mike Brey has ever been thrown out from a game.

The ejections did not concern the Irish one bit, as they handled the Terriers with ease towards the end. But, what should concern the Irish is the fact that the bench continued to under perform, even against an opponent like St. Francis.

CANMORE, Alta. — The second weekend of the 2017-18 season is officially in the books, and what a Sunday we all experienced to cap it off.

Admittedly, the first week of the season had its moments where it was a bit underwhelming. A lack of upsets left excitement on the table and fans wanting more, but we also got to experience our fair share of exciting basketball and close games. College basketball is unpredictable with each passing game, which is why we take it all in stride.

November 19th brought a little bit of everything to the forefront. A trio of early-season tournaments came to a close, a pair of top ten teams dodged upset bids, and we witnessed our fair share of overtime games that had fans on the edge of their seats right to the final buzzer.

If you opted for the NFL as opposed to the NCAA, here’s what you may have missed over the course of the day on Sunday. Continue reading Sunday Recap: Colorado Remains Perfect, Miles Bridges, and a Quadruple Overtime Thriller
