Transfer Talk: Chris Darrington to Toledo, Plus Several Stars Move to Division I

SARNIA, Ont. — Friday the 13th was a quiet day on the transfer market, as none of the big names committed to new schools for next season and beyond.

With that said, several teams from across the NCAA got better with the moves that did take place over the course of the day. A handful of schools landed commitments from players outside of Division I, while one new head coach in particular landed his first major recruit.

In addition to the commitments, a pair of players announced their intentions to transfer from their respective programs. Late Thursday night, a player that took part in the 2018 National Championship game announced his intentions to transfer, while another who advanced to the Elite Eight transferred on Friday.

College Court Report 2017-18 Preseason Awards: Mid-American Conference

CANMORE, Alta. — The 2017-18 season tips off on November 10th, which means the final month without college basketball is finally upon us.

Fans all across the country are gearing up for another exciting college basketball season, and with the recent scandal involving the FBI and several power conference programs across the NCAA, the level of anticipation is through the roof.

Conference preview pieces are starting to circulate from various media outlets, and conferences are hosting their annual media days and announcing their preseason polls and award winners. It’s always interesting to see how coaches and media rank teams in their respective conferences.

With the season right around the corner, we are starting to release our Preseason Player of the Year awards for each conference, along with three All-Conference teams. Picked at random, we will release two sets of awards each day.

Looking at the Mid-American Conference for the 2017-18 season, a ton of talent returns for all 12 teams. From experienced guard to up-and-coming big men, the conference race will be one of the more exciting ones to watch.

Entering the season, a handful of teams look like top contenders to represent the conference in the NCAA Tournament. With so many teams so close together, the MAC will be home to some competitive games over the course of conference play.

2017-18 MTE and Neutral Site Showcase Preview Series: HoopHall Miami Invitational

Devonte’ Graham and the Kansas Jayhawks are among the nation’s best teams heading into the 2017-18 season, and are the headliners in the 2017 HoopHall Miami Invitational.

CALGARY, Alta. — The 2017-18 season is just around the corner, and while there’s a debate on Twitter as to when the season actually starts, it can’t get here soon enough.

Schedules are being released with each passing weekday, and many of them feature early-season tournaments and multi-team events all throughout non-conference play. According to Chris Dobbertean and Blogging the Bracket, there are over 30 multi-team tournaments, and another handful of neutral site showcases and non-exempt events.

So, with the season coming up, we thought we would go through and preview all of the early-season tournaments, the non-exempt tournaments, and a wide array of the neutral site showcase events. In total, we will preview 75 different events over the course of the next 75 days, culminating on opening day.

We selected the events at random, and have broken some up into two pieces, like the Phil Knight Invitational, since there are two separate brackets.

College Court Report Three Stars: November 15th, 2016

We are almost a week into the 2016-17 regular season, and there have been a slew of memorable games and individual performances. If this keeps up, the rest of the season will be rather exciting.

Tuesday night saw several marquee match-ups gain the headlines before, and after, the teams took to the court. From the Kentucky Wildcats and Michigan State Spartans to the Duke Blue Devils and Kansas Jayhawks, to the ESPN Tip-Off Marathon and everything in between, several players stood out above the rest all across the nation.

With the exhibition season in full swing, and coming to a close early this week, that can mean only one thing.

The 2016-17 college basketball regular season is just around the corner!

Things get underway Friday, November 11th at Noon EST with the first regular season game of the season, and there will be a plethora of talent on display across all 32 conferences all season long.

Before the season gets started, we decided to hand out some preseason hardware, in the form of our Conference Player of the Year award and All-Conference Teams.

Along with that, we have the College Court Report All-Americans, and the Mid-Major Player of the Year Preseason Watch List. Links to all of the conference awards and the Watch List can be found at the bottom of each article.
